So I just come broke my own personal record the other day, and wondering what everyone else's is, and from where to where, in the space of a single day or 24 hours?
For me it was Lyon to Manc (08:45>00:29). 769 Miles.

Most miles ever driven in 24 hours was 1258, from San Tropez to Dover, then Dover to Hornsea East Yorkshire all in 24 hrs. That was 2 people driving in an 1100 Ford Escort. The following day when it was started it put a rod through the block!

that's a journey !

Most for a single journey was Venice to the Nürburgring in a 996 GT3 but going via Munich and Stuttgart, which was 1200km which is 745 miles, absolutely shattered by the end !! GT3 bucket seats were already giving me backache before I left Italy !!

Back some 25yrs ago we rode our motorcycles from the north west UK to the very bottom of the South of France in one hit, it wasn't the nicest of trips.
Google maps says 994 miles.

A friend of mine I grew up with does some really obscure rallies with his father-in-law in some peculiar vehicles, Grimsby to The Urals type stuff :D
He's done some absurd mileages in a day, but I'd have to ask which was the longest.

St Tropez to Blackburn - 1075 miles. Only stops for fuel, food & Chunnel. Around 20 hours door to door. 996 never missed a beat.

Did a thread on it here. Think Chimp won (edit: or poppopbangbang):

I have driven from Toulon to home in Surrey a few times in a single hop - about 800 miles. I find when driving on my own it's quite easy to develop a sort of stubbornness that just wants to get it over. I am not sure I would do it nowadays, but in my 30's and 40's I would happily drive across France en route home and my family flew back.

Durban to Kimberley in 1 journey.... in 1 go as we were late getting back to camp.........!!!!

Just under 500 miles.

In the late 90s, a friend of mine and I drove c 2200km from London Bayswater to Salerno Italy in almost exactly 24 hours, stopping only for the ferry, fuel, coffee and food in a non-turbo diesel mk4 VW Golf. This required a fair bit of straightlining the corners on the older autostrada as we needed to use the whole road from barrier to barrier to maintain our never-lift-off pace of 140kmh without understeer.

Since he started off, I got to do a lot of the 'good bits', such as the Alps, the Mont Blanc tunnel, Val d'Aosta and so on.

The longest I have driven by myself is 1000km in 10 hours in the Discovery (almost made it on one tank!) from Helsinki to Finnish Lapland.

The longest in the 911 is about 700km in 8 hours from Finnish Lapland to Vaasa.

Mine is about 600 miles, but the worse by far was riding from Saint Malo to Biarritz in non stop driving rain with a 50mph cross wind early in the year. I definitely had hypothermia. It was also comical watching my mate in front leant over like a Moto gp rider for mile after mile.

Miskolc to Newcastle upon Tyne. 1500 miles (ish)... May 2022. Oh in 997.2
Also do regularly in a macan GTS, but that trip is normally broken in to 2 each year.

810 miles. Garmisch partenkirchen to Milton Keynes. Left Garmisch 06:30 uk time and got home 20:40. 2006 BMW R1200RT back in 2008

2000km including the Channel crossing from Moraira in Spain to Tonbridge, but going via Lyon where I had hoped to stop, but couldn't find a hotel and just kept on driving. Left around 9.00am, arrived around 5.00am next day driving a W124 Mercedes E class. Got a rollocking off my wife in the last two miles because I hit a badger. I was a bit tired.

circa 1995.

Surrey to Argeles-sur-Mer, over 850 miles, solo, started around 0130 Sunday morning, ferry across, arrived about 1800 that night, Sister, BIL and family (3 children) were stranded in Spain by the 2010 volcano ash cloud and my mother rang me on the Saturday night and asked me to go and rescue them. Niece had a GCSE oral on the Wednesday morning. DISCO 3. Stayed o/n in Argeles, got up at 0700 on the Monday and drove all the way back, drove it all myself, now 6 up and luggage in the roof box. Back in Surrey for a curry at 2100 on the Monday night.

So 1700 miles all in over two days.
