What fuel is everyone using ?

I have my first 996.1 3.4 and currently using Shell V Power i also run my BMW x3 35D on Shell V power or BP ultimate

does anyone run Costco Premium or Tesco Momentum 99 ?

Several threads on this.
I am using momentum these days . Significant cost difference to Shell and had no issues

Shell V power most the time. Hartech recommended it for maximum performance.

shell or bp premium for me as theyre local to me

probably easier to talk about which ones to avoid

Shell V-Power ot Tesco Momentum 99 are widely regarded to be the best performance fuels around.

For tooting around town or motorway cruising any 97+ RON will do, which is pretty much any premium.

I can get Gulf E5 fuel near me. Nearest Tesco Fuel is 36 minute drive, nearest Shell is about an hour away according to google!! I would need to fill up again by the time I get back:oops:.

The car goes fast enough on Gulf, I just hope its got all those cleaning agents included to keep my injectors working well.

Don't think I'd ever run on the lower octane for chance of your knock sensor not working and you damaging the engine with it pinking.

We have a shell garage nearby so tend to use that. Main thing for me is the reduced ethanol and reducing any potential damage to the fuel system components albeit they ‘can’ cope with lower spec E10.

The only tangible difference I’ve ever noticed was in my (now sold) 54 plate PPP upgraded Impreza. Shell was definitely the best of the premium fuels.

Worth downloading the shell app if you don't already have it. I don't use the 996 as much now as I have other transport toys. Every 3rd os so fill up they add a £2.50 fill up voucher on the app which get's knocked off the price of filling up. Also worth having both nectar (my local Esso garage take it) and Tesco clubcards. Points car either be used with nectar off the price of fuel, or with tesco, cash vouchers or I use for eurotunnel at double the valley, so half price crossing for free if you've enough points.

I use Shell V Power and have a Shell garage not far from me. It's more expensive than Carlsberg, but needs must.

Can you use nectar points for the tunnel or is it just Tesco ?

Pretty sure the car has 6 knock sensors - one for each cylinder?!
