What did you buy your 996 this week......?

New set of stainless wheel bolts.
My originals were beginning to corrode badly on the alloy collars and where more rusty than black.
Now they're nice and shiny :thumb:
Can I ask where you got them from please just had my alloys refurbished and the bolts are ready for the bin. Thanks

Design911 have wheel bolts at a decent price. Well worth changing out as the corrosion can get pretty bad.

Set of Esco axle stands from Amazon as were reduced. The American ‘Shorty’ version is standard height in the UK. Probably double the price of UK sourced axle stands but not seen anything quite the same.

Ideal for the 4 lifting points. The metal top plate is cupped underneath the rubber so no chance of slipping!

Finally got myself some EP4110 ‘Big Oval’ exhaust pipes - rare as hens teeth these days.

Will get them on this weekend.

I bought an icarsoft obd2 code reader from a mate on the boxter forum (boxanet). Seemed a good deal. I hope it will come in handy for my 996 c4.

Allow more time than you think... guaranteed you find things to clean and polish while the bumper is off...🤣

Too right. Even though it had all been taken apart and the fixings were fine, it still managed to take me several hours of faffing about!

Nothing very exciting just some bits and bobs I've noticed missing or worn out. Two new front struts, new number plates, a rear wiper blade, some touch up paint for a couple of stone chips, a battery cover clip and a headlight release bung.

I finally replaced my passenger side door lock actuator to get rid of the dingle horn beep on unlocking, as it wasn't fully unlocking on the first go, needing a second press to do it.

£21 well spent, as even though the old one is only 5 years old, it was getting quite embarrassing parking in public with the horn attracting everyone's attention every time I got in it.

Easily under an hour to remove and replace.
