What did you buy your 993 this week ?

I fitted aluminium ones when I first got the car in 2013…….not had any issues with them

I couldn't resist - I got an awesome bargain - apparently B Grade stock but that box has never been opened...................if you know, you know :love:20250321_153110.jpg20250321_153142.jpg

I'm guessing they are from the original production batch. They had an issue with the water seals. They replaced mine FOC from the 2nd production batch.
To be honest there was not much physical difference between the 2 but you could see extra sealant seeping out of places at the rear before it set. The issue was apparently when washing the cars so just be careful if you use a jet wash.
If you look in my journal I have pics of both sets side by side from memory ;-)

Edit: here is my journal entry on the replacements with comparable pics

Thanks @jonttt I'll let you know, they still have the full warranty for actual defects but they're literally brand new and now on the car, look great.

Yes, I'm chuffed with mine as well 😊

I sometimes question whether I should click on this thread and open it up in case I become overwhelmed by rolls of carbonique. On this occasion I seemed to have dodged a bullet 🤣

Admit it, you can't stay awayv :ROFLMAO:

if you dont mind me asking where did you get it from and what price
Bought direct from morimoto and all in with import duty just over a grand........ they had an open box offer and missed out on the A grade set so rolled the dice on these B grade but they've never been opened let alone used. With the front lights it just finishes off the look

Unfortunately a new windscreen this week. A strange crack appeared inside the screen, which baffled me. Luckily I had the Glassman sort it out for me, only lives a few miles down the road. Such a pleasure seeing Paul’s work. He really is a perfectionist and so great to deal with. Also a relief seeing the scuttle in good condition and Paul making sure it stays that way!

New stock exhaust, headlight lenses and a full detail plus ceramic coating.
Previous owner had put a non-stock exhaust on and it was a bit “shouty” around town and droned on motorway runs - so I had it put back to stock.

Fitting new glass headlight lenses really freshens up the front of the car.....I'm not sure how much they are now ? but 10 years ago they where not a stupid price. They can make old fog / sidelight units look worse though as the aging miscolour stands out more ?
