What’s this grease for?

IMG_2811.jpegIMG_2810.jpegAnybody know what this grease for, I ordered new gear cables and this was listed alongside so I got it too, I assumed it would be for the ball joints at gearbox linkage, but it’s almost like an oil, so now I’m not sure?

Posabilities are , the ball joints like you said, for inside the cables this seems unlikely as my mates new ones has no sign of any lube, and I've never heard of any talk of lubing the cables on the forums. Or maybe it's to help get the big rubber grommet in as that was particularly difficult on my mates car?

I’m pretty confident that the cables do not need greased and I think it says to use dish soap or similar to help install the rubber bung in the workshop manual.

That just leaves the ball joints then, unless anyone else knows different!

I thought this was the Porsche rubber reconditioning oil?
