Thinking of shelling out £599 to have this (paint protection film) fitted to my 997 (with the exception of the leading edge of the bonnet as the edge of the film is likely to show). Anyone had any experience of having this fitted? Claims to be much better than rival products (but then they would!)

HI Their film is not better than "the leading competitor" in any way that they have yet proven, last year they ran an ad saying Six times stronger than the leading competitor, for two years we had asked for data to support this (they offered to sell us their film), eventually we complained to the ASA who asked them to prove their claims, or take down the ad funny thing, that ad has not appeared again, if we see similar claims in the media again, we will take action again. Unfortunately you can say anything on the net.

We test all films, as if a new better film appears, I want to offer it to my customers and as 3M keep updating their film every 18 months (Latest Version just released in the UK), we have yet to find anything to beat it, so we USE 3M still. The biggest worry with the likes of Ventureshield and other non topcoated films, is the tendency to absorb road grime, now they do offer a cleaning fluid, however, this is not going to remove tar stains as far as I can see (pretty much nothing will out of micro pore surfaces). And surprisingly enough given the fact that the film is 25% cheaper to buy and most of our dealers and Armourfends will typically do a porsche for £550 ex VAt installed. You will therefore be paying more for a cheaper raw material!!!

Hope this helps

Best Wishes
