Guys,

I have been looking at a possible purchase of a Gen 2 Turbo S and I'm not sure whether I prefer the Centrelock forged wheel or the 5 spoke Turbo five stud wheel. ( the car I'm looking at has the Centrelock wheel)
How much is involved in changing out the Centrelock hubs for the five stud hubs and is a feasible / practice change or not ...... Your thoughts are welcomed??

Further to my centre lock comments on the other thread, I have in my hand a letter from Porsche explicitly stating that :
"Currently, the only vehicle which has been approved by Porsche and can have the Centre Lock system returned to the 5-bolt system is the 911 Carrera GTS (997)."

There should be no technical reason why you couldn't with a Turbo S, but doing so would mean that it would not be possible to put a Porsche warranty on the car as things currently stand.

Hi Disco,

interesting that one, as the Turbo S also had an option to have the Turbo 2's fitted at initial purchase.

It had crossed my mind that Porsche may have a disclaimer on it or the Insurance company may also have when they ask ' any mods from original spec '.
So it may invalidate the standing warranty on the ' S ' if i were to change them also i guess.
Did you get that letter from Porsche as a result of an enquiry to them regarding swapping the hubs ?

I must admit that the more i look at these c/ls on the Turbo S the more they grow on me.
I still prefer the c/l's on the GT3 though.....!!
