Hi everyone
I have just bought a 991.1 C2S which I love.
But I went away for about 10 days recently and when I came back and started the car the low battery warning light came on.
Should the battery discharge that quickly?
I am going to buy a ctek charger but I would expect the charge to hold for longer than 10 days!

Freezing weather will be the main culprit of the battery drain. If it's been parked up in the 1st place not fully charged (quite usual at this time of year) that won't help either. You may also have a drain on the battery somewhere, or battery is getting old.

Congrats on your purchase! Photo's are mandatory BTW!! 😊

It's a common issue with lack of use. Ctek is a good choice. It may be able to revive it.
How old is the car & battery?

Thanks, it has been very cold as I live in Scotland though the car is garaged.
I will give it a good drive at the weekend for a proper charge. Gives me an excuse for a proper spin!

Very smart and great spec! Enjoy!

Welcome to the forum Tony, If your battery is original to the car, chances may be that it might be thought worthwhile to have a replacement coded in... My battery at 9 years old and circa 40k miles failed to fire up the car after 8 days, when I had forgotten to connect up my Ctek when I parked it up ..!
with your battery being an AGM type, (?) A CTEK MXS 5.0 should do the trick.... As best I understand it, a trickle charge is a constant low current charge, whereas a float charge automatically alters it`s current relative to the battery`s needs.

Batteries can last a lot longer than 10 years however if it has ever been allowed to loose almost all charge at any time during it`s lifetime it`s ability to hold a charge can be reduced considerably...

Best of luck with your choices..

Get a Ctek, job done. (y)
