Anyone any strong views on the VW Toerag? I've had it to the back teeth with f4ckin Range Rovers. I'll have spent close on a grand before I've even started on service etc with oil leaks/new pipes, then the stereo/sat nav packs up and thats another 500 squid. I'm lookin at Diesel 4X4 but with some german reliability. They brought out the 3.0 v6 as the 2.5 was underpowered, but second hand v10 that started life well in excess of £55k, can now be had for low £30's.

My friend has the V10 Toureg and loves it. But the customer service leaves a lot to be desired and it has been back a number of times to sort electrical problems.

lassie at my work is on her second TDi Toerag....................not the stump pulling V10 but original the 2.5 and now the 3.0.......she's not happy with their customer service either and both of them have niggly faults

cs can be very much dealer dependant, so a bit of a lottery (wonder if you could end up with a VW Polo courtesy car!) there are a few good vw's dealers out there.... for me a Cayenne with better dental work

V10 TDI v V6 TDI... economy isn't that bad for the V10 and it will come with much more of a spec...per specs

major plus point is it's showing in the Euro Ncap results....

I know that software can be problematic, but then again so seems to be the issue on all things german for a few years now... but certainly a V10 for abourt £30k is reasonable VFM right now

I detailed a Range Sport recently. When doing the roof, I saw some of the paint bubbling up. Bearing in mind this car was only less than 6 months old. Really surprised as the owner wouldnt have known if I hadn't shown him. Get on the ladder to inspect yours too. RR sorted it under warranty.

Diesel is the spanner in those works- she got fed up putting 70 quid a week on the 4.6 hse I used to have.

it's not often the 911 master makes a spelling mistake..... although I still had to google it to make sure ! I hope you don't mind ?

btw, 70 squids a week ! where does she go in a week ? :o
honestly I think it's time you tempted her with that reasonably priced Suzuki Liana, which I would have though by now would have the 'IT' car to have after all of its appearances on Top Gear ! :D

Got a friend with a v10 toureg,in fact his dad and brother in law both have the v10's as well. They have probably had every four wheel drive going and seem to rate these the best.I was loaned a v6 cayenne today as my car had to have some recall work done on it at on opc.Only drove about 20 miles but found it underpowered and it looked plasticy inside-quite comfy though.Another friend swears by his diesel x5 but there just seem to be too many of them in this part of the world. My own favorite is the new shape rangie-quite reliable nowardays, very luxurious. They all have 3 year guarantee but the vip pack with 5 years free servicing can be found on some cars.

Now on the basis it takes you a full day to fully detail a 911, how long does it take to do a RRS?? Theres as much surface area on the roof as there is on a whole 911!

I really like
the Touareg, but I've heard that the V10 is the only one with any real grunt.

it was for exhaust tail pipe replacement.seemingly the welds on the clamps on some cars have failed causing the end pieces to fall off the car and 'endanger other road users'!!!
