Hey guys, I'm sure some of you must have or access to a PS2 or Xbox. This game is released tomorrow its had some stunning reviews so iv been chomping at the bit to get it. Below is a little description of how in depth these games have got. However the main reason for my keenness is all the main UK tracks are on here ie Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donnington, Bedford, Oulton Park and also THE RING.

So i was thinking with Bedford and Oulton coming up would be cool to get used to the track lay out. It took me a good 6-7 laps at Silverstone to confidently remember what corner was up next and Bedford seems a lot more technical circuit than Silverstone, not sure about Oulton Park i may check it out tomorrow on my PS2! :)

If a few of you guys are interested in this game maybe we could start a little competition between us ie lap times at The Ring in a 911 of course
I'm sure the 911 CGT or RUF will be available fingers crossed xxxxx and it will put in good stead if ever you visit The Ring surely....and before anyone jumps on the "its not the same" bandwagon i know but its a bit of fun and take it for what it is, a game!!...

With an 8-year heritage, the TOCA series has captivated a wide breadth of racing gamers. To appeal across the board, TOCA Race Driver 3 will deliver individual game modes that are specifically designed to satisfy the speed-freak and the motorsport simulation fanbase, using all the juice from the enhanced engine.

For those who know their friction circles from their piston rings, theres the new Pro Career mode where you follow a career in a specialist racing discipline - including GT, Off Road, Touring Cars, Historic, Open Wheel, Rally and Oval.

With each discipline representing a different genre of motorsport, youll progress through championships that cover the breadth of that discipline.

If you want to make it as an Open Wheel race driver, youll start off in Go-Kart events before progressing to Formula 1000, then further championships including Formula BMW, Formula 3, and all the way up to join the BMW WilliamsF1 Team!

More than ever before, TOCA Race Driver 3s stunning physics and damage engine will take real-life racing to the next level. You may have seen realistic speed and acceleration before, but TOCA Race Driver 3 accurately simulates full tyre wear, tyre and engine temperatures, fuel consumption affecting weight distribution, and real world engine inertia. This incredible detail is simulated on every vehicle, across the entire range of motorsports featured.

Rob, do you play your games with the control pad or a wheel? I got GT4 when it came out, but found using the standard controller was absolutely hopeless so I gave up pretty quickly.

Have never played TOCA, have always been a GT man - and have been doing some practice on The Ring. I will check it out though - love my driving games - and always up for a challenge!

Hi,

Richard, i haven't bought a game for my PS2 for about 2 years last game i purchased was Tigerwoods 2004, so i got no idea how good the steering wheels are, you say you prefer the wheel to the pad? They must of got a lot better than the last time i used one cos i thought the wheel was useless, however it may of been a knock off, i'm not sure, what wheel do you use?

Chris, one of my pals is a GT man, he has all the GT games so far, but he was the one that told me about Toca3 he gets all the mags etc and from all the write ups, this is supposed to be MUCH better in every way than GT.

G, the Integrale sits on the drive now feeling sorry for herself, she's had no love or attention since i got the 3. It wasn't to long ago i had an engine/turbo rebuild new suspension, brakes the only thing that lets it down is the bodywork, probably leaving her outside while the 3 sits comfy in garage, doesn't help.... and no she dont need your talents i have to ddecide what im going to do with her, really she needs to go to a new good loving home, but what would you recommend wax wise for a white car...something cheapish not zymol prices!

Thanks

Thought i would revive this thread.

Been playing this game a bit and it really is worth the money.

When i went to Bedford last week playing this game helped sooo much, knowing what corner was up next saved me at least half a day in trying to memorise the circuit layout. Yes it was exactly the same!! i just had to learn how fast my car could go, so with this in mind i have started to play Oulton Park with inside the car view, the graphics are amazing it is such a good game, i urge anyone thinking about buying this game to do it, you wont be dissapointed.

regards

I just bought this game for my PC, its pretty damn good, i'm very impressed. I think it knocks GT4 for six...

Anyone else been fortunate to drive the Jag JP1 for real? I was fortunate enough to go on the Jonathan Palmer Motorsport experience with work a few years ago and got to drive this car, its amazing!! It's very surprised at how good it is in the game too, by far my favorite car in the game so far, although i've not seens any porkers yet!

I have a Logitech Wheel for the PC, i'm very impressed with the force feedback through the wheel. it's actually the PS2 wheel meant for GT4, i've managed to download drivers and it works fine on the PC.

Jay
