I am 6 foot 4 inches and keen to buy a porsche. I had a go in a 993 but there was not enough headroom. A 996 was much better. I read on the car configurator part of the official porsche website that you can specify a 996 with lowered seats.

Whats the deal on this? What does anyone else recommend?

Im a broad 6.2, stay away from sports seats, drove a gt3 and my shoulders were just not right, didnt enjoy it at all. Try a standard 996 without a sunroof, the sunroof robs you of cm's, should be fine I've not had any height issues in 996's, may even grow my afro like big dave in the coffee advets! :)
. If all else fails try a car with the optional lowered seats in. Good luck.

I got the opposite problem. I am short and the car I intend to buy is driven by a really tall bloke and he had his Recaros lowered!!! I will have to readjust them or sit on a cushion!!

Only tip I can offer is to avoid sunrooves. Did the 993 you tried have one?
