The story goes that the
America
agent for Porsche wanted a badge/logo and that it was designed on a napkin in a restaurant in the States.
Porsche wanted to incorporate the
Stuttgart
coat of arms into it and you will find that horse in the middle of the now very famous Porsche badge.

did you know that noony?

Brendan my first ever Porsche was a 911T I think it was a 2.2 and ran on carburettors. It was bright red. That was about 20 years ago now. O'h such happy days.

I know it's on the crest but I didn't know the story behind it. I guess ferrari wanted some association with Stuttgart aswell!

Aparantley the Ferrari Badge comes from the badge a famous Italian pilot used on the side of his plane in World War one..

So now you know Noony....

Peter my 911T is a 2.0 with carbs but unfortunately it's still on the high seas making it's way over from the States. It will be here soon in time for the good weather.

By the way I think the restaurant was in New York and Sean is right about the Ferrari logo.
