Sony Radio code

When I bought my '97 c4 in july, it didn't have a manual for the stereo. The unit fitted is a Sony MDX C150RDS which was fitted as original equipment by AFN when the car was new.

I now need a new battery for my car, but when I disconnect the old one, I'm going to trigger the code lock on the stereo, and it's going to become unusable isn't it?

I've checked through all the manuals to find out if a previous owner has written down the code, but can't find anything.

What do I do?

Please help!

Many thanks

Will

One way around the problem could be to connect a battery charger to the battery terminals and ensure they stay connected whilst you remove the clamps from the battery. This should provide enough power to the car and therefore the stereo to ensure that the security code lock does not kick in.

Make sure you don't allow the postive terminal to touch the body work whilst you swap the batteries over. Probably best to get someone to hold it out the way while you replace the battery.
