Had a fantastic experience when buying an approved used 911 from Silverstone. The sales exec, Gareth, and his manager, Martin, couldn’t have been better. They did a very fair px on my Mercedes and gave me a great package on my car. Having bought the car discovered a small crack in the battery compartment plastic cover (over £200) which they replaced without question. Enjoyed the experience so much my wife went back and ordered a new 718. They are a long way from when we live but the service made it worthwhile.

great to hear
What did you buy?

I bought a 911 S 992.1 and my wife bought a 718 Boxter Style model. The 911 only had 323 miles on it and was £25k less than the new price 9 months earlier.

That is a great result. 👍
Any pics of the new car?

Good result! Expect an invite for 992 GTS launch ✌🏽

Car looks great and always good to hear of somebody with positive feedback on a purchase

I always tell myself each car is a keeper. That is till I find another one that catches my fancy! I do hope to have this one for a long time. They’ll be newer, faster, better ones coming down the line but one of the things I like about the 911 is their timelessness. Old models don’t become obsolete in the way other cars can. I’m sure part of the reason I got a good deal was due to the lack of sports crono and sports exhaust. The crono would have been nice but the exhaust is the thing I most wanted (and fortunately available as a retro fit). Silverstone are fitting one for just over £3K which doesn’t seem too bad. I won’t use the car as a daily, nor on icy/salted roads but do plan to put miles on it. We go to Spain quite a lot sailing and are thinking of taking it to Santander by ferry and the going across the Pico mountains and Pyrenees down to Valencia. Be interested if anyone else has done this trip and got any advice.

Sounds brilliant, and just about the same reason I have mine. Euro trips are the main reason I got the 992.

Like you, I always say it’s a keeper, but this one is, as I’m now on a mission to get my money back in my bank account after blowing a huge chunk on the car (didn’t finance it)!

Yes, swapping these things in regularly would keep you poor! A new GTS spec’s up would probably cost £50K plus to change. That would equate to about 10 years running expenses in the current car. Think I’ll use the money to enjoy the one I’ve got!

Silverstone are great when you want to buy a car, not so much on the service side….. mine is in it’s 5th week in residence undergoing warranty repair…

Silverstone have had mine 7 weeks now & are still unable to find a fault. Now basically calling me a liar as no one else thinks it’s under boosting .
Despite the fact that they have a very similar car in stock for sale that they could easily compare it to……
