ok,

I need some short term Insurance, ideally only for 2 weeks, but maybe for a month if thats the shortest I can get. Have tried dayinsure.com, but any modifications and they don't like it, even just some skirts and a bumper!

Any ideas??????!!!

Maybe there's a way of getting insured in the normal way, but cancelling after say 2-4 weeks and not getting charged any more???

thanks...

I went through this myself- sorry to say the only option I found was to insure, then cancel. You will get a pro-rata refund, but you will lose out.

Try Bell Direct. I know they do short term cover on a monthly basis, but you may need to have a main policy with them already. Worth a call to find out though.

Do you already have Insurance on another car?

If so, mine allow me to add a second short term (up to a month) Insurance for another vehicle.

unfortunately not and I've tried putting the car on someone elses Insurance and having me as a named driver, but that didn't work at all. I have found a company that despite asking for 2 months up front, will refund all of that IF i cancel within 14 days unless there is a claim. that seems the best deal.
