Hi

What do you think? Shall I buy a black 968 for a budget of upto 12k and save the rest of my money for an apartment/house deposit for this year? Then try and get a 993 next year.

Or keep saving and buy an awesome C2/C4 993 after the summer and no house.

I will defo track which ever car I get. Only thing that worries me is I'll be a "pretender 911 wannabe"

regards

G

Hi M8,

I would definately get on the housing ladder. Property is always an investment. Prices presently are from observation open to negotiation in the present market.

You never know you could get a bit of equity within 12 months and add to your Porsche fund!!!!

My own rule was to get a good house then the 911. I stuck to it. Although the plan was House, 911, baby, but it has been house, baby then 911!!! Searching for a baby seat.

regards alan.

Hi G,

I'd concntrate on business, get a house/flat, then safe up for the car you really want. For now, a 968, esp a CS is a fantastic track car! but you'll always want a 911, something to aim for in the very near future! I always wanted an RS and have to wait for yrs for it due to financial and various practical reasons. You can use the 968 to improve driving skill on track and get use to Porsche ownership (although not much different from any other fast cars) so when the time comes, you can really enjoy your 911!

or a 964 ?

g, what do you currently drive ?

964's are a little pricey mate. I would prefer a reliable no stress car for about 12k, well Porsche. I really want to try and buy a house/flat this year and get a mortgage. I drive a highly modified audi tt atm.

I was thinking the 968 wont depreciater anymore so when the time comes and I can afford a 993 I wont lose hardly any cash on it.

Get a LHD 968CS, depreciation proof (almost) and room for the detailing kit!

Agree with that! Great for the track and lots of space for the kit to bring to track days!

968's are a tad over priced...... as will said their premium over the 944 S2 seem too high......

TT atm (mtm ?) ? looks like an A4 Cab in the pic...

RHD 968 CS might be a bit more than 12K, a "normal" 968 won't keep value as well. Is it going to be your fun wkend car, or your main daily car? If it's a fun car then go for a LHD CS, it won't take long to get use to LHD, if my wife can manage it anybody can! shhheee hope she dosen't see this!

Had the same problem , wedding, baby & new house all in the stretch of two years. Each time it ate into the 911 fund but getting on or up the housing market was by far the best decision made. Now happy in the home and ready for 911 ownership :D

I have waited about 4 years to get a 911. But it has been well worth the wait. Really glad in my case that I didn't go for a boxster. However, now I want a C4S - but that is the way it works with porsches! :D

G, IMHO get on property ladder and get 968...I had same dilema, bought flat and had to wait 18mths for Porsche...well worth it...C4S's came in to my budget :D
best things in life and all that, at the end of the day 968CS...awesome car...
