The 963 Roger S Penske

Made in Atlanta USA 🇺🇸 after the motorsport legend himself 🏁

Porsche unrevealed its road-legal version of its 963 Le Mans race car 🌶️ the 963 RSP

Punching in with 680hp or 671bhp for those in the old empire, through a hybrid V8 from the 918 Spyder 🕷️

Hypercar makers brag about incorporating motorsport technology into their road cars, just hold my beer it’s Porsche’s turn.

The #963RSP is not just the real deal, it’s the full beans Le Mans hypercar converted for road use, packing all the competition spec, oh my goodness indeed 🏁IMG_6095.jpegIMG_6094.jpegIMG_6093.jpegIMG_6092.jpegIMG_6091.jpegIMG_6090.jpegIMG_6089.jpegIMG_6086.jpegIMG_6085.jpegIMG_6083.jpeg

Its amazing that it's allowed on the roads.

How much are we talking?

I assume its sensible to buy one to drive and another to out away for the future?

I wouldn’t have had a 917 anywhere near it in the pics, it’s not really what you might call a looker in comparison

Having said that, nice to see it on the road, nice change from the restomod overload going on at the moment

I look at stuff like that and I think it would be really unpleasant to drive on the roads, especially UK roads.
I know some of the guys in a supercar garage, they've got two branches and their sales manager was telling me that occasionally they move cars from one branch to another and the most hated car that they all try and get out of moving is the 918 Spyder, once they've had a go none of them want to drive it again.

Sounds like a good joyride deterrent then eh

Seriously, I don’t think these types of vehicles are built with the aim of them being used as a daily

The cynic in me says they’re just doing this to take the focus off the fact that it’s a crap race car.

Why crap?
I’ve based my assessment more on gut feel than results; but I take your point about IMSA, I haven’t been following that.

I just don’t think it has ever looked that fast. Single lap pace is lacking, race pace is lacking, and it doesn’t seem to do very well in competition for position. It just looks like they’ve got all they can get from it, and it’s not really in the same league as the WEC-specific cars. Perhaps it’s that the LMDh cars don’t transition to WEC regs so well.

You watch me be categorically proven wrong next weekend now though…

I'm rushing between meetings, I only had time to watch 30 seconds but crikey that does look nice, I still bet it's not so nice to drive around on UK roads but what red-blooded man wouldn't want to own one!

Edited.
I apparently broke the rules but I don't know which ones, so I deleted it all.

Ahh ok, apparently it's a word beginning with T that is now offensive to certain groups, I had no idea.

Basically I was moaning that in the UK driving a car like that would wind some people up because if they think you've got money, or a nice car, or a good job, they can be really resentful about it and the UK is the only country I've ever lived in where someone will damage a car just because it's a nice car.
