We just got our first bit of snow in Tokyo! In fact, loads of snow! So much so that I had serious problems getting home!!! Never ever had so much snow so quickly here - and I have never driven in the snow! SO I couldn't get the car home as quick as I liked. I was a bit chicken to try the car with the PSM off but it was a real pain driving with it ON. Just wondering, if any of you guys who drive in colder climates if you have any advice.

Currently driving a 2003 C2 / 18 inc carrera's. (pirelli's)

in the snow.. very tricky (no surprise !)

fat tyres = useless...

rwd = equally useless...

porsche in the snow = all of the above 2 answers

snow tyres make all the difference...

when I has my 4wd audi I still drove like a snail..... all the electronics 'can' help.. and they will help with the odd correction.. but you can still skid dangerous out of control at only 10mph in the snow, there isn't much they can do......

so if you can fit the correct (thiner) snow tyres then your porsche can be a snow car.. well not quite Land Rover like..

BUT to stop all the toys do make it worse as they are anti-skid based.. so you will end up with very long stopping distances.... but as you can't turn off the ABS (IIRC?) then it's a case of taking it vvv easy.... as with all that power it's endless wheel spins as the PSM fights to keep you going at 10mph....

when it snows... I use the wife's car ! unless I'm off to an open & clear area to practice my 10mph power slides....
