PCM update, fault on Sceen.

Hi everyone, as a newbie to the forum a big hello. I am after an independent PIWIS specialist to fix my NAV/ AUDIO system. Was updating to PCM 2.1 and battery died mid update, have lost the system as it was ?!!
Am hoping a reload and new setup will cure. The head unit had a new laser fitted and I was putting it all back together when this occurred. HELP, if you know of anyone.

I live on Surrey Sussex border.

Having retrofitted nav to 3 997's

I'd be concerned about loosing the units software

The sat nav disc comes with the units software, but its a read only once software
And over £300 a disc, and knowing Porsche not going to be hacked by the average it expert
 
If the update failed mid-process, just re-insert the update CD and it should start againg from scratch. I have seen updates fail which knock out the whole system, and starting the updates from scratch, with original or known good disks, always reinstates the system software.

Sorry, Mark, but what you say is incorrect. The update disks can be used over and over, and are Porsche service kit items. They can also be copied perfectly easily using PC software, but you have to use good quality CDR disks, and burn them slowly.

Some eBay sellers haven't a clue about this, and are the most common cause of update problems.
