PCCM Plus - DAB/Radio issues

Seems to be connected as per guidance.

Disconnecting it removes all Radio signal.

Reseated it at both ends and swapped the cable around but the problem persists. As soon I start driving the car it starts to fade-in/out and or lose signal. Works fine when the car is stationary.

Disconnected battery, tried the CAN / AMP switchover in the volume advanced menu. No change. Actually with AMP the head unit becomes independent of power supply so put it back to CAN.

This also seems to be connected as per guidance of the original install sheet.

Tried switching the spare connector with the other but same outcome.

This looks like the passenger side, mine was deifnitly on the drivers side A-Pillar

What is the circled wire connected to?

Its the middle connection. That black plastic bundle has an antenna sticker on the glass, returning and splitting into the connection to the middle port (green) and a ground. I disconnected that to check and the Radio in the same way as it does with it connected, including the issues)

Right hand A pillar (drivers side) seems to be factory default state.

Starting to wonder if it may be that the Antenna receiver isn’t good / strong enough because intermittence isn’t losing signal as much but going bleak. The sound fades in and out more than goes blank.

I did not touch anything in passenger A-Pillar, it was all Driver Side A-Pillar. If you use a multimemter you can buzz out the cables to confirm what goes where. But you basiclaly bypass that Amplifier in the Drivers Side A-Pillar, in fact I simply rmeoved it and threw it away. It has attenuators that wont allow DAB frequencies. There is a cable that comes in the PCCM+ kit that enables you to connect to the Aerial directly in the windscreen. Maybe thats whats been done on passenger side of your car but is that not the Mobile Phone Antenna on that side?

Do you have this piece on the Left hand or right hand side, I dont see it in the pics at all? P/N 99664259000

The goal is to bypass the white box on the a pillar. Disconnect the bit you highlighted green from the white box and plug it into whichever of the wires it will plug to. Probably the one with the gold plug.

Edit - good point, you need to bypass the module in the drivers (rhd) a pillar, not the one on the passenger a pillar.

I am starting to expect it may be done differently on a C2 vs C4S/Turbo. The sticker on the passenger side unit states it’s AM FM so we can be sure that it’s the antenna for Radio.

The loop on diversity unit is expected to deliver a joint signal from the two antenna stickers on the windscreen, via the passenger A pillar receiver which in thesis is based on what I’ve seen of the pccm+ install guide pages.

From how it’s been done, it seems to have been an OPC job, as it’s exactly as per the manual so far.

From Drivers Side Windcreen Aerial, bypassing the 2 boxes to stereo.
