Hi All

Can anyone tell me the script with 911 Owners Clubs, While phoning around for Insurance quotes, I was asked a quite a few times if I was in an Owners Club !

Who are the owners Clubs, and are there any benefits in being a member of one ?

Regards

Mike

Porsche Club GB, you get a glossy mag every mth, 10% discount if you buy bits from OPC, quite a few meets etc. Good if you want to put in the efford and meet the other Porsche owners, as always with owners clubs, you only get out what you put in. I'm just too lazy for that.

I am a member of PCGB and think it is good. Because of the money I saved on Insurance it paid for itself.

Benefits I have used

1/ Discount on my Insurance.
2/ Lots of events to go to if you want to (16,000 members in the UK) or you can just ignore them if you want.
3/ Very knowledgable register secretary for each model who will answer any questions you have.
4/ Club will do valuations for your Insurance if you need.
5/ Very good track days. Quite expensive but there are much fewer cars, open pit lanes and Porsches only on track.

Ian.

PS There are other independent clubs which can be more fun in some ways (TIPEC, DDK for older cars, etc) but I don't think they are recognised as owners clubs for Insurance etc.

It's not the quantity but the quality that counts!

Re PCGB, I did join a couple of yrs ago for the track day, as you get £50 discount as a member so it pays for itself after just one track day. The 993 register was a bit quiet at the time so I didn't re join. Will do again though when I get my RS not so much for events/meets but more for tech support etc.

When I bought my Insurance for my 993, they gave me 1 years membership free !!

And told me it will help me next year when I come to re-new my Insurance..
