Northway - great service

Having had a tough experience with Cridfords, I eventually bought a 997.2 C2S from RSJ who were good to deal with.

A year on and I’ve been enjoying the car, and having it serviced and generally looked after by Northway (e.g. radiator grilles and cruise control installed).

In October 2023 my car wouldn’t run properly and the issue was diagnosed by Northway as the high pressure fuel pump, with the kicker that the pumps were on back order. Eventually they got stock and replaced the pump in December.

Fast forward to this weekend which I spent in North Wales searching out some fun roads with a group of friends. Just after lunch on Saturday the car suddenly wouldn’t rev over 4k RPM, and I pulled over outside Bala. We read the codes and it was the pump again. I then waited and waited (and waited) for recovery. We After a story too convoluted to get into, the car was eventually delivered by the breakdown service to Northway this afternoon (covered in bird poo and filthy inside and out). This was 2 days later than promised, then a day later than promised, then 4 hours later than promised, but they had the car.

Against this, I had the unhelpful deadline of a CAT training day booked for tomorrow. All seemed lost, Northway had a full slate and didn’t get the car until late in the day. I was starting down the barrel of losing my 50% deposit as the day was booked to learn more about the car, and spent too long messing the team at CAT around this week.

Ray then called my mobile at about 5pm to ask about the driving day, where it was, and to see what if anything could be done to save my deposit! He texted me shortly after to say that they were going to crack on with it tonight, and 90 minutes later I collected my car.

I think that’s pretty amazing customer service. He and his team fitted a pump in 2023 that unknown to them was defective. It failed 5 months later and they then stayed late to replace a pump without charge, to allow me to enjoy myself tomorrow. They are out of pocket for the labour and the hassle of getting a refund out of Porsche, and bent over backwards to help me.

I am now a customer for life, and would recommend you give them a try for straightforward, honest, expert advice and unbelievable service.
 
Great result, I've not used them for servicing but off the back of many recommendations from friends and online as well as customers I met when I visited a couple of times when looking for a 911 to buy, I bought my 991 Turbo from them.

Ray and the team at Northway are phenomenal!
 
I've used Ray and his team for years and they are basically amazing, open, honest and 100% customer focused.. I'll never go anywhere else - Mines in there on Monday for a bit of work....
 
Northway now have new facilities and done a fair bit of building work to create new workshops. They were building it last year when I went ....

On a side note, what MOT places to you go to now that Sun Garage has closed?
 
Another happy Northway customer. Ray and Mayan and the team are amazing. This incredible team have helped me so much with advice and have recently done some TLC on my dream car and new to me 997.2. It’s worth the drive to go there. Owning my car is phenomenal knowing there is a specialist who is so sweet kind warm welcoming and knowledgeable and so easy to approach. Always ready to answer questions or a quick chat. Northway is my Porsche and I team “for ever” Thank you for everything if you are reading this.
 
Was down there looking at a car yesterday, completely agree about Ray, obviously very knowledgeable.

Comes across as a very genuine guy, something that's generally lacking in the motor trade.
 
I have been using Northway for the last 10 years for my 997 and have always had fantastic service from Ray and the Team.

For MOTs, since Sun garage closed Ray recommended Beenham MOT Centre / Auto Integrale who are literally just round the corner. And if you like Lancia Integrales then some interesting things to look at while you are waiting for your MOT….
 
I also bought my 997.2 from Ray 16 months ago. I took it back there for its big service as I like it there so much. I live in Epping so it’s a fair way and if I drop off the car for a sleep over it takes me nigh on 3 hrs on public transport to get to and from. I will continue to use Northway as I feel the same as you guys about them.
 
Bought a 997.1 from Ray and Mayan last week. Impeccable service and attention to detail. A real pleasure to deal with and a great introduction to Porsche ownership.
