Got back to the car in the supermarket car park and noticed that a biker on a brand new Ducatti had put a scratch on the door of my 993 ( I could see my paint on his handlebar).

When he gets back to his bike and finds his suprise hopefully he will be a bit more careful in the future.

If he HAD done it and knew it he would have moved the bike........ so that he didnt come back to find it damaged......????

Who is the moron?

Um......let me see. That would be you then for defending him.

What did you do to his bike?

Eeek! I'm staying out of this one :o

OK. Lets play nice.

Personally, I think wanton vandalism of my car is on a par with sleeping with my wife and is subject to extreme levels of violence.
Accidental damage is annoying in the extreme but if owned up for should be excused. If it is not owned up for, and I found the idiot who caused the damage, I'm not sure what I would do, but I have to admit I don't condone eye-for-an-eye style retribution. It is a difficult one though, because I would sure as hell want to push his bike over... I just don't think I would do it. After all, I think we can assume the scratch was an accident.

Just my opinion.

James

I would probably have sat and stewed for a while so that by the time he returned I could question the instigator of the incident at least half calmly!

...but yes, interested to know what you did to his bike

Interestingly people have assumed that I damaged his bike in retribution.

What I actually did was leave a photocopy of my brothers Warrant Card taped to his bike along with an offical police Form asking him to call explaining why he didn't report an accident.

When he did phone my brother he said he could almost smell the sh*t coming out the bottom of his leathers.

No point in having power unless you can abuse it

This thread is probably a better reflection of all of us than of the guy who did the damage! Very funny!

Does this mean that you can now seek redress from the bike rider? Or was it just "payback".

The rider phoned me last night and was very apologetic. Wants to pay for the repair without going through his Insurance. Nice result. As Jay Jay says: Don't get mad - get even !
