Morning all, i purchased my lovely 99 C4 in Nov 23 and have enjoyed 6000 miles with her and made some upgrades and improvements over that time.
One of the main reasons for buying her was the very well stamped and documented service history from Main dealer and reputed specialists but there were a few invoices missing that i wanted to match up to the stamps so with PI head on i emailed a few people to obtain as much info as possible. Well, today i had some very positive information indeed from Porsche Centre Wilmslow advising me that not only had she had a replacement clutch at 48k miles, she's now just clicked 111k.... but she also had a new manual gearbox fitted at the same time........!!!! Copy of invoice was attached for my records with client info redacted.
A service plus other bits and pieces came to a grand total of £7500 hence the reason i could find no record in the history for clutch work and at 111k i knew she would have had a clutch at some point.
I'm wondering how many miles other 996 owners have seen from a clutch and were 996 6spd gearboxes particularly fragile to need to be replaced...?
