Privilege have just jacked up my premium by 22% because of my suspension upgrade - essentially on account of the springs since the dampers needed changing anyway.

Fortunately the Privilege deal was v competitive anyway, so I guess it's still good value. But honestly...

Anyone had similar experiences? Or can recommend a friendly outfit that has a logical approach to risk assessment and pricing?

Or should I have just kept quiet about it? Hey Sundeep, you've modded your car so that there's very little of the original left...
what have you done?

well given that its a fairly high value motor you have i reckon they'd send out a well quallified motor engineer to check the damage(heaven forbid of course) that would be caused in the event of you claiming..........now if he spots that the shocks are not declared then not a nice position to be in if you know what i mean

you mean the all fours position?

So who's come clean with insurers on mods and what has it cost you? PM me if you feel the need for confidentiality (you never know who's watching?).

I hate unfairness in business. Now that I'm 'non-standard' I feel they're taking the pi5s.

So how much uprating on brakes, etc would I need to get to group one?!?!

On a serious note! A long-ish time ago the Insurance company I was with sent a claims assessor out after a bit of a prang on an Omega estate. Not the most expense of cars... He was a real pain too. I oh so wanted to slot him by the end of the perfomance.

Are Insurance companies still has sharp to go to whatever lengths to avoid or reduce the amount they cough up?

Deathly silence and...............

What happens if you buy a car thats been modified unknown to you?

When you buy an 8 or 10 year old car and you are new to the marque how are you supposed to know whats standard anyway.

Or as in my case the car is factory lowered but say I could not prove it, or should this be declared anyway?
