hi all...just bought a 1985 carerra sport. i'm 28, 3 years ncb, no accidents, convictions blah blah blah. the car's going to be garaged and less than 5000 miles etc. you all know the story!

i keep getting told, i'm too young to be insured on this car (er hello!!!) or the car is not old enough to be on classic Insurance (it's an old lady for goodness sake!).

where do you boys (and girls) get your cheap classic Insurance from?

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and would let me get out and drive and meet other 911 owners sooner rather than later!

thanks.

I have got the best quotes from Carole Nash
(0800 298 5566)
. Is this your only car? I think most classic policies require it to be your second car.

Other names that often get mentioned are Performance Marque, elephant.co.uk, Tesco, Adrian Flux,
Nowell and Richards (01785 715115),
AON (01483 706068),
Performance Direct.

You shouldn't have a problem getting a quote for around £500, depending on where you live.

Although it might sound unlikely try Admiral. They insure me - I'm 26 (well for a couple more days anyway !) I've got a '89 Carrera Coupe parked on-street in central London 5000 miles per year and my only car (6 yrs ncb and protected no-claims) - They said 'no problem' just over £800 which I think is pretty reasonable. You've just got to keep shopping around !

Personally I've tried em all and even at 24 with 6 years no claims the only good deal I've had was Tesco with £1200!!
Thats on a 1995 Carrera 2... :(

I got a superb deal from Norwich Union Direct.

I tried plenty and Tesco were the cheapest. They are still trying to get into the market and doing good deals. I've always been a firm beleiver in that they are all pretty much the same (Insurance companies that is). Talk to ten people about a claim they have had with the same company and you'll get ten different responses. Save money - spend it on fuel...

Hi Goldie,

I tried most of the above and they were well expensive. I'm also 29 and have 2yrs NCB. I got 10 months Insurance for £900 from Bell Direct - 0800 917 3365.
