How many miles have you done since the clutch replacement ?so do you think im either releasing clutch too early or riding it that why im getting the smell?
Thanks for the nudge here - I repeated the same process for the black cable (move a notch, test, repeat) and managed to improve the shift further. That is the cable you want to adjust.
The left/right cable is just just the gear stick is aligened in the middle, so when you only push up/down you are going between 3rd and 4th, you have to then move it equal amounts to get to 1st/2nd and the same amount the other way to 5th/6th.
The back and forth will adjust how well it snicks into 2nd. The reason 2nd feels a bit rubbish is the cable has stretched a bit and so by the time you get to max extension you are only just getting it into gear. Shorten it a bit and it will snap in far better, go too far and you will run out of extension for 1st, 3rd and 5th of course though. But it is a balance.
I know there is also some gear wear that doesn't help, but we can ignore that and work with what we have to work with.
