Hello,

perhaps i should introduce myself a little before firing off questions; I have been lurking for a few weeks, doing a bit of research and enjoying the erudite wit and banter.

After driving a friend's '96 targa for a week i became hooked, and now want one myself (though still slightly debating between coupe or even C2S). I've been to a few dealers and am checking the cars for sale on here regularly, still trying to find my perfect car. Thought putting a request on here might winkle out a few more; I have good hard cash ready to spend for the right car.

I am looking for a good condition RHD 993 Targa, <50k mileage; pref silver.

can anyone help?

thanks

Henry at 911virgin has this one..............must admit i quite like the colour and its also got the RS bodykit.............but as its from 911virgin i doubt very much its in the under 50k bracket miles wise and of course its got a bit of turquoise tint to the silver

I dont think the RS kit (esp rear spoiler) works well with a targa.

heathen!!!!...............i think whats not making it look quite right is the fact the sideskirts have been colour coded

Sorry not the cheapest, but £5000 just spent at a main dealer

the other guys will tell you that all the things to look for have been done

and just zymoled with the £1500 Vintage wax,

Probably the only 993 availabe with a main dealer warranty

the car from stirling looks a good 'em and it has the sought after sports seats and it's in silver, after all no point in paying for a cheap one if you have to then spend £5k getting it up to standard...

only negative for me is the lack of heated seats which is a prefrence for me...

thanks for all the advice; have got my eye on a couple of things, though the need for heated seats has clearly narrowed them down!

will let you know how i get on..

Given that the sport seats come apart in under 2 minutes flat, I doubt very much that a new heated seat element couldn't be added for a few hundred quid.

Rejecting a car as it hasn't got heated seats could cause you problems. Much better to buy a car with heated seats but needs a new engine!

wasnt entirely serious about the seats but dont know how to do one of those wink icon things.

ahh, its pretty obvious really isn't it!

You're so right. :D

Although I did see a 96/97 arctic silver targa, black leather interior, sports seats at Ninemeister the other day and it is for sale. 35k miles as well I beleive. Non standard targa wheels on it but they looked quite good.
