Getting carried away

I have been thinking about getting a Zymol kit.
So having searched the threads on this forum I decided to go for a complete kit.

I have never waxed a car with proper product before so I thought I’d look at Zymol’s web site.
There are instructions here for washing, cleaning and feeding the paintwork.
All very interesting, then this caught my eye.

Waxing a car is nothing less than lovingly applying protective oils to the 'skin' of your car. The special relationship you have with your car is a bond of trust. You must use care in the choice of products you use on your car as not to break the bond.

What!
I think someone got a bit carried away here.

S'bollocks!

Cleaning and waxing is important but Zymol is expensive. I hear rave reviews of Meguiar's and have some Gold Class (or whatever) wax awaiting my time and effort.

Do tell if the Zymol is worth it.

Good choice Andy.

I get so fed up with this "Zymol is expensive" cr*p. Do you have any idea how many applications you can get from a 226g container? Let's say you apply it 4 times a year (enough for most people), it would last about 8-10 years, that's about £5 year at most for either the Creame or Carbon waxes, hardly expensive! Not only that, Zymol waxes have 10 times the amount of Carnauba wax found in lesser products such as Meguiars and that's what provides the protection and depth of shine.

I have also heard it said that Zymol don't last like other waxes.

I want to use the best. Convince me about Zymol (like next Friday, Admin).

Really? I applied Titanium to my 993 last Sept, the rain was still beading off of it in January, and it was never garaged. I suspect that it's the same people saying it doesn't last very long as people saying it's expensive.

Anyway, I'll shut up now. I'm quite protective of Zymol (as you many have gathered), and I have so much repeat custom which speaks volumes about the products and a very high percentage are Porsche owners. It's an amazing product and my Exige is living proof, it's a pity it'll be dark when we meet as won't see it very well!

I'm a convert to Zymol from Meg's Gold Glass. There really isn't any comparison. It is a time consumimg process, especially if you use the clay bar too , but the results are awesome.

I bought a tub of Zymol when I bought my car, and I've still got just under 1/2 left, and I bought my car 4yrs ago. (I also used it quite a few times on my other cars as well) It gives me tennis elbow everytime I used it but the result is hard to beat!

Hmm, I'm impressed. I must try Zymol. You can try to sell me some Phil (your forceful views are explained...!)...

Well... if we can get the numbers for the curry meet, then I'l do a Zymol Starter Kit competition on the night!

Sorry if I appear forceful - just passionate about it really!

Ps
You can buy my Zymol kit for half price - virtually untouched.

I use Meguires at 15 quid a bottle.

Not tried any of the others but would testify to Zymol results - even though the whole wash, leather, clay, chocolate cleanse, wax thing is a whole day. Do it panel by panel to ensure staying power.

The first tub i bought lasted me 4 years of fairly regular use.

Cheers
