FYI - faded scuttle panels can be restored with heat

plus 1 for the above........................

just ordered some polytrol myself - looking forward to seeing the results - does it work on tyres too????????
I've not used it on my tyres I use Autoglym tyre stuff for that after every wash, don't think Polytrol would be suitable. The Polytrol stuff is more of a longer term treatment, I use it once a year on my 996 scuttle and door mirror mounts, and on my big E53 X5 bumpers and running boards and it really does last a year before showing signs of fading! Also use it on my black metal patio furniture that turns grey every year and also my hose reel which fades. Does it's job well and is easy to apply with a finger in a cloth, soak for a bit and gently buff off excess.

Sounds great, looking forward to trying it. Will post pics over the weekend.

Is that not a paint, rather than a restorer?
Yes however you would never know its a painted finish just looks like a new panel I will see if I can get some pics

OK, so polytrol seems to work well on the wing mirror plastics and wiper arms. Only did this today, so obviously can't vouch to longevity yet...
