Fresh Winter wheels and Winter Tyres - PICS

Hello all

Thought I'd share this job with you all.

Brief was to supply a cost effective but not bland set of winter wheels for this Gen 2 to preserve the life of the Carrera Sport wheels we supplied in the summer, negating tyre changes twice yearly and also salt corrosion on the lips. Customer wanted N rated winter tyres not least because of warranty needs.

I suggested a set of lobster claw Carrera S wheels in correct offset which could be transformed in a two tone scheme.

The colour was chosen and matched the same as 997 Turbo and Turbo II wheels. This colour is a no-cost option as we do so many. Also I encourage sticking to the Porsche colour palette as if it doesnt work its expensive to rectify.

He opted for Nokian WR N-0 rated as they are £100 less expensive but also have a more pronounced tread design over the Pirelli Sottozero II.

To finish off we supplied matching genuine Porsche caps of the latest design. The Carrera Sport caps, apart from being the wrong colour are a different design being flat not concave.

We will store the summer wheels after a clean and then visit the cutsomer at work twice a year to change over again.

Here are the results which I hope you like. Personally I love them, perfect colour scheme for this car, and a really cost effective solution as these wheels are inexpensive due to volumes produced.

Thanks for looking.

I tried to tag you Maxie as I knew you'd say that! Agree 100% they suddenly come alive in this colour. Any time Maxie...reckon it would be as good on yours and kinder to the Carrera Sports.

I just bought an identical set of black/silver lobsters with winter tyres on ebay, arriving tomorrow :) They look fab

Top job as usual Chris.

Am still getting plenty of compliments about my wheels since you refurbished them.

No! They are definitely off to Stoke for a guy working out in Afghanistan...

I've never really been a fan of lobster claws, but the 2 tone actually works astonishingly well on them. Nice work.

Heh, well they look exactly the same!

Amazing Chris

Two tone transforms the lobster claws.

A chap around the corner from me has a white C4S Cab with two tone black lobster claws and this looks awesome as well.

Wow some excellent work there they all look fantastic
Do you have any pics of these or carerra classics painted grey or light grey fitted to a Atlas grey car ?

Hi Lambretta, in my library I have many pics which I need to go through. Carrera Classics are actually quite uncommon. I will get back to you on this.
