First Porsche - First Post - 992 GTS or 991.2 GT3 or Turbo S - opinions please

Yeah, good luck getting an OPC to give you a deal on the screen price. Happens but the incentives usually manifest themselves in the shape of future servicing discounts, PEC day at Silverstone, mats!! and other sundry items. But all to be negotiated for. As this is the Internet there will always be enough people to tell you that they had xxxx number of ££££'s knocked off the price and that they let you sleep with the Dealer Principal's wife. Happened to me anyway.
As for the new engine, this is definitely a thing for 991.1 GT3's, they rolled off the line with an issue. Engines were replaced and given the appropriate warranty.
Good luck in your search.

The silver GT3 was a .2, so I was surprised to hear it had been replaced. Its not unheard of, but certainly not common. The dealer wrote a comprehensive description of the car but neglected the new engine, which tells me its value is dented by the fact.

Yes, it seems dealers aren't willing to negotiate. I havent seen a Spring bounce and with the Mango Muppets shenanigans, I could speculate its a matter of time before things soften. Or it could be just my disonnace.

Just re-visted the 991 advert, yes, didn't see that it was Gen 2, sorry apologies for that and the superfluous words that followed. Puts a different slant on the engine being replaced over and above the known 991.1 history.

Have been using my GT3 as a daily all this week.
Had forgotten just how brilliant it is.
If the 992 GTS is a 10, then the GT3 is an 18. It is just that much better in terms of engine and dynamics.
So Mondie, my advice would be to keep holding out for a GT3.

Saw this one on Saturday - lookin' good

The bloke from RPM Technic put a clip up yesterday with the new 992.2 GTS and he reckons it's immense and would smoke a GT3 on back roads, lots more torque and better suspension for the roads. Front end is amazing by all accounts.

Everyone that tests this car in real world conditions raves about it, like I said Chris Harris reckons it's ten times better than the 3.0L.
If it's Cool-Aid then it's got a lot of people fooled, unless it is just actually quite a lot better and a decent step forwards.

You pay your money and make your choice.

Since I last posted, I've come close to buying a couple of cars. Guildford had a mint 991.2 GT3 with 1700 miles that was offered at 140k. I tried buying it at 135k, but it sold over the weekend. I would have gone higher, but it sold before I pursued it further.

A very highly optioned 24 GTS with 1200 miles was up at 122k, and I was close to buying it when it sold within days of listing.

Good cars are selling and it's a waiting game for the best cars.

A GT3? That's GT3 money, and possibly GT3RS money.

RPM Techniq have got sone nice GT3s in at the moment, I'd have gone and looked at the blue one if my 911 quota wasn't full for this year.

if you get a 991.1 with G6 engine you will get great value at 80-90K

Having both there is really no difference in performance between the 3.8 and 4 litre, the 3.8 if anything sounds raw at the top end

Any Gt3 of any age is a fantastic product- If you need a weekend car than I recommend one over a GTS or Turbo (they are great everyday cars but i didnt get the buzz)

that's what you need to do as there are TOO many cars with ordinary spec's

what's the latest ?

The search is over. I paid a deposit on this one-owner <5k miles GT3 on Friday. Waiting on new tyres and an 8 8 years service and plan to collect in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all the handy advice on this thread and others (y)

welcome to the cult of gt3

congrats looks great

Getting an allocation for a new GT3 is very difficult. So this leads to cars being sold early after collection for "Overs" and owners tend to be "Flippers" not drivers, hence low mileage examples.

unless you are prepared to buy now that ridiculous 911 Spirit 70, then trade it in for the 992.2 GT3 when it arrives
that's a quick way to get onto the list #Justsayin
