This weekend I came to plug my battery maintainer into my 997.1 GT3. The battery had totally died and I could not activate the electric mechanism using the post in the fuse box to open the frunk.
So now I am left with a totally dead car with the steering locked on and no way to remove the wheel to get to the cable behind the inner wing plastic covers. There was also not much room between the passenger wheel and garage wall.
I eventually managed to remove the covers and get to the cable by jacking the car up and doing a lot of squeezing tools between the wheel and wind and going at it from underneath. This was probably be made worse by how low the GT3 sits
When I got to the battery is was showing 3 volts, so a new Bosche S5 should arrive today
The job would have been 10x easier if I had kept the locking wheel nut key in the glove box!
