Decent servicing in Yorks/Humber area

Hi - who's good for servicing in the Yorks/Humber area? I bought my C4 auto (1999 V) from Hendon Way in London, it's now due a service.

Hi Barrie, be careful who you choose in that area as I had a bad experiance from a workshop in the area you are in. Due to forum rules I cannot name him. I had a 4 wheel alignment done and a brake overhaul and found the alignment all over the place and the brakes had not been done correctly. After complaining he said he was passing on my information to his 'legal advisor' and haven't heard anymore. I suggested he just refund me the £550 and i would get the work corrected elsewhere. He has gone deaf.

- has anyone got experience of Strasse in Leeds they can share? Lokoing at 996 servicing specifically.

Barrie, I would recommend RPM at Knaresborough. They are honest, Offer good value and great customer service, unlike some of the other porsche specialists in the area!

A friend of mine had bad experiences at an OPC and local specialist with his 996 C4 Cab. I was running a Boxster S as a stop gap and took it to RPM who mdid a great job. My friend then took his C4 to them after the roof failed for the third time. They fixed it for a fraction of the price he had been charged to do the smae job by the OPC and Specialist. RPM is located next to Gmund Cars. I believe they use them for all the majority of their work.

I have used both OPC's and Other specialists with my previous Porsches.

- thanks to those that replied. Just to complete the picture, I took my 911 C4 to RPM in Knaresborough (as recommended by David Hawkings).

I had a really good experience - great (personal) service from the owners Nick and Andy and a feeling that I've received most importantly, an honest job done on my car at a value for money price.

Thoroughly recommended.
