On any 911 before a 996 I'd say LHD is worthy of serious consideration. I personally can't get on with a RHD 993.

I drove a 993 / 1996 in LHD today - it was lovely, in RHD - no thank you, I personally feel the driving position is a serious compromise in RHD!

Here in Japan. it is quite hard to find RHD Porsches - Daniel, I do have my eyes open for you mate but not having much joy!

Incidentally, the 993 was great, very different from my 996 and 997 but very nice indeed! I can see why everybody in this forum loves them! When I was in the UK I only had the pleasure of sitting in a RHD 993 and hated the driving position, I never considered a car for me!

Absolutely Servo. When I started looking for a 993 I tried RHD first and couldn't believe how offset the driving position was. The clutch pedal is pretty much in the middle of the car!! I wouldn't be surprised if this is why there are a fair few tiptronic 993s in the UK.

Anyone had dealing with “911-heaven.co.uk” ?

Just wondered if I could haggle on that price !!

(Ocean Blue is darker than iris blue ???)

2 Things I don’t like, Done a HPI and it only came into the
UK
in 2001 (so its an import) and that aerial at the back of the roof !!

I do like it though….

Oh and its NON Varioram !!!

Which is something I had not thought about !

Dan

Mine's Ocean, it's a darker shade than Iris with a pearl effect to it. Looks superb when clean and waxed up, but not so nice dirty!! It's one of those colours which has to be clean to look good.

The roof aerial is probably there to cover up the phone aerial the car had a few years back.

Non varioram - will always be the case on an earlier car (VR introduced in 1996). It's not really a problem. At the end of the day if you're on a budget something is going to have to give...

Non-Vario cars respond very well to a simple ECU remap - instant 285 - 290bhp.

Import... if the car had a clutch done and other consummables replaced recently, I would have thought the asking price reflects this? I think Ocean Blue is a fantastic colour... here's my old car in Ocean...

Looks very well !!

You must miss her, like I miss mine..

TBH, somehow I don't miss her (not yet anyways - it's been exactly a month apart today!)... don't get me wrong, she was a brilliant car: built like she was hewn from a solid steel ingot, an orchestra from the velvet chainsaw, but... she didn't scratch my itch in the handling/performance department. By the time I left her, my heart had moved on...

But perhaps I'll return one day to the 993... right now I'm saving up for a 2.4S to accompany the new mistress
