Carrera 4 GTS Headlight Beam Adjustment Fault

Hmm, dipped beam is clearly too high, yet no fault message on dash present.
Any ideas? Trip to dealer methinks.....

Diagnostics don't cover every eventuality. :o
 
Really? That's odd, my gen2 tells me both when my headlights are on as well as if my shirt is buttoned up incorrectly, and if I left the oven on. Maybe a fuse has gone somewhere?


Take it to any MOT place you trust and get them to adjust, shouldn't be more than £30 tops. If you're a repeat customer, they may even do it for free.
 
As Red993C4 said, there is no baseline sensor.

You need to get the datum set manually.

A sharp bump or headlamp removal can cause them to move.
 
As it has Xenons the adjustment is a workshop task I think. There is some integrated level sensor which is probably where the fault lies. Not something I feel confident tackling myself.
 
The adjustment is workshop if the sensors or actuators need recalibrating or replacement, but otherwise it is a 30 sec* job with a 5mm long-reach Allen key in the boot (behind carpet).

Even the manual tells you how.











*It's 30 sec to change it, but if you have OCD, it will be 30 mins of night driving squinting from one eye to the other convinced first the left is definitely lower, then the right is definitely lower (even though you know you meticulously measured the 1% beam declination for both on perfectly level ground to the 4th decimal place)
 
mine would have just failed its MOT had the tester not been a Porker fan who kindly adjusted it FoC - it passed.
