Car going for a two sided respray

I have bit the bullet and my car is going in for a two sided respray. :o

The inner arches on all wheels are showing a lot of surface rust and I want to get rid of this properly once and for all. I also have some of the clear coat lifting around the back windows (told this is due to the previous painter not taking the windows out when they have previously re-spayed the car).

While this is being done I am looking at getting the wheels refurbished, the callipers overhauled and my body shop will be in at the rear chassis legs. I am also considering the sport cat conversion (not sure about this) albeit my car has RSR boxes from Gert and the sound is probably loud enough. I do like the idea of breathing easier but this might be overkill or the wife might kill me!

While its in the windscreen is also coming out and being checked and a new seal installed, it squeaks like hell even with some chain lube squirted in.

Not that I am looking for anything extra to be done, I think all of the above is going to make my eyes water, but I would hate to miss the opportunity to put right any other common issues.

Any suggestions?

I have replaced all of the heat shields previously and rear bumper arms / supports. Suspensions has been done with ex Jackal PSS10's and engine mounts changed to C4 units. Short shift kit is in. HID's done. Holy ***** how much have I spent on this car. I need to stop starting to break out in a sweat. :what:

Here is RSR Boxes with 200cell cats no acceleration drive by to give you a sense of sound, and I think this might make it sound louder as the camera mic seems to pick up every single noise

for comparison here is acceleration

and here is a DBA Noise Leve test.. this sound much louder than it actually is because it is in the garage and also my new camera seems to have an even more sensitive mic.

Hope that helped...

Do it Do it Do it!!!

Thanks for posting the clips, I think this is a must. Have you measured the car at 3000 to 4000 rpm to see the noise?

I take my car onto the track once a year and do not want to risk not getting on.

On my recent (and first ever) track day, my car with only RSRs was at 105dB and barely scraped through. I would have thought that RSRs and a sports cat would certainly be over 105?

Another reason I'm going to go back to standard cans.

I'm actually also worried about that as I'm off the the Ring next month and apparently they have a 95db(A) noise level limit. They test at 2/3rds of redline which is what I did in this video... and it gets to around 99... however I think it is louder as a result of the enclosed space.

To play it safe I purchased a set of Fister Track Fangs (http://fdmotorsports.net/fister-993-track-fangs) from Darin in San Francisco.

So I'm going to take them with me and if I fail the test I'm going to put them on.

I hardly ever track my car so I'll be happy lend them around when I'm not using them.

Here is the other noise level test I did...with the tester set to record max level.... again in the garage so I need to do one out in the open
