Boring old MPG question

Can we measure Fuel in terms of time rather than MPG........my tankfull has lasted me 7 years so far :ROFLMAO:

There are no boring questions to true nerds!

I also drive my 993 daily. Just did a 500 mile round trip and the dash showed 28.5 mpg. Twenty years ago similar motorway trips did 22 mpg in winter and 25mpg in summer

btw I drove too long with the fuel light showing. When I looked the range was showing dashes instead of numbers. I've seen that before and know it will drive for at least 10 miles with the dashes. According to the manual the tank capacity is 72 litres and I managed to get 70.4 litres in. Is that a record?
oh at LEAST 10 miles - cant we do a who has the biggest balls thread to see how many miles can be done after the dashes appear on the screen................... :-D

Over the past 10 years and 12k miles I'm averaging 21.6, brim to brim. Yep I know, very sad!

I live in the sticks, rarely sit in traffic and never commute in her. In the 16 years I've owned her that's a fairly typical figure, mid 20's on a motorway run at the legal limit.

I did that from where I live to France. Got nearly as far as Paris before deciding to fill up on the auto-route and running out on the slip road, managing to coast up to the pump. Think it was something like 458 miles from it being brimmed.

Brought the 996 in this morning. Cold day, and had achieved 18mpg until about 300m before my office. When I got stuck behind a bin lorry - and spent another 10 minutes in solid traffic. Arrived at work after 37 minutes and 15.0mpg according to the OBC.
Boring boring boring (esp for a Friday) but starting to think those figures aren't too bad!

I'd be using me Vespa if I had to put up with that everyday.

Haha - you're right Alex...
But I'm a very fair weather rider (despite the loser apron....)
15 minutes each way and about £1 in fuel on this....

I started recording my miles and fillups 5 years ago.

During that time:

Best / worst / average MPG from a tank: 28.1 / 20.8 / 24.3
Most miles from a tank: 395 (long motorway drive)
Most litres put into tank: 70.05

I rarely drive in heavy traffic.

On brighter note I managing 9mpg in my R8…….no traffic lol

12 mpg this morning 5 C on cold cup2 tyres
Heart rate 120
