As a new Porsche owner (996 Targa (52) 6sp) can someone recommend the best oil to use? Actually any tips at all on the best way to get the most out of her would be much appreciated.

IIRC the recomended grade for your car is a 0w-40 or 5w-40 full synthetic, I would only go a for a Porsche approved one, the Mobil 1 is fine as long as it is the 0w-40.

otherwise a proper Ester based 5w-40's oil are apparently the bestSilkolene PRO S 5w-40, Motul 300V 5w-40, Motul 8100 5w-40, Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL 5w-40.
