Autobahn for service

My 98 996 is due it's first annual service under my ownership and I'm wondering where to take it. I'm thinking of taking it to Autobahn in Coventry as that's where I bought it from and prior to my ownership it had a engine re-build costing about £7k. So I'm thinking... they know the car and it would look better in the service book if there's company who have regularly serviced the car. However it's in Coventry I'm in SW London and I don't think they will give me another Porsche as a courtesy car.

So my question is... Should I stick with Autobahn or find someone closer to home i.e Charles Ivey (who I've heard can be quite spenny)???

I have had work done to my 944 and will take my 996 to Autobahn .. well its PCT next door who handle there servicing etc. They seem a top bunch to me..............................

Try this guy....I use him and I wouldn't go anywhere else now...very, very knowledgeable and he only charges £40 an hour...and he's a lot closer than Autobahn!

Hi I'm a bit late contributing to this thread but I haven't logged on for some time.

I've had quite a lot of work done at PCT over the last couple of years. They are very competent but are now very expensive indeed. I've made the decision to take my business elsewhere based on their £68+vat hourly rate.

I assume that they have more tha enough basic servicing work on newer cars and have increased their rate simply becasue they can.

I guess I may use them for fixed price work, but last time I got a quote from them it was more than double a quote from another nearby specialist.

used them for an oil change a few years back, ok service and they do know their stuff... and a nice selection of cars in the lot as well

I went to Autobahn/PCT for my last service (May) and they were ok. Saying that it was only a yearly sevice and the car has only done 5-6k since I bought it from them so I didn't expect much more than an oil change.

The only thing they had a little trouble with was wheel re-alignment on the front. Since then the car has failed it's MoT on inside wear of the front tyres.
I don't know whether this is because of the trouble Autobahn/PCT had or because of a existing, yet undiagnosed, fault

Simon - How much did they charge to do your clutch? I live in Northampton and the clutch on my 993 is on it's last legs.
