Maybe I am a bit behind the times but I enjoy minting my car up and have always used Auto Glym products since the 80's and generally have always been happy with them.I notice now a lot of people use Zymol and the results look spectacular but I am confused about all the different waxes, processes etc.Is Zymol worth all the extra effot and price over the Auto Glym. Also what is the difference between Zymol and Swissol?????

You may well start a riot
.

I am on Zymol as are many here, but there is little to choose between it and swissol (as I understand it). The results are amazing and the wax lasts for a long time. My last wax was in November and a normal clean brings it up perfectly still.

I have been really impressed with Glasur and this is the first car I have used zymol on. I would definately recomend it (even given the price). Also at the rate you use it a tub will last for 3-5 years - so not too expensive in the long run.

By the way -I like the sound of you car :D
. What colour?

Simply put, it's streets ahead of Autoglym.

The difference between the other two - well Zymol is made from wax from the tear ducts of angels and Swissol comes from somewhere around the Devil's nether regions. :P
(Ask Phil, he'll back me up on that one)

Vintage is the dogs. Now only available in full size containers unfortunately... :(

You are not comparing like with like, as application, longevity, feel and look are different.

The initial results from Autoglym will look good, but it just does not last and you do not get the deep wet look you get from other solid carnauba wax products, of which there are many :)

autoglym deep resin polish £9 decent result but it does not last and the white resin it leaves in the trim is a pain in the arse

mcguiars carnuba wax £13 even better than autoglym but again it leaves a white resin in the trim bits

zymol £100+ quite simply nothing compares, however imho i use mcguiars and just wax more often as digging into my pocket and shelling out over £100 on a tub of wax would give my mrs another reason to say " get that car sold i want a new kitchen"

Seems a lot of support for Zymol,so its probably time to bin the Auto Glym products.I have had a look on various websites and the number and type of zymol products is baffling me so what I want to know is this-What would I use on my car to make it especially shiny??I have a 2005 carrera s cabriolet,4000 miles with one or two tiny scratch marks,a few tar marks etc?I have not polished or waxed it myself yet and Im not bothered if I have to put a lot of elbow grease in-I quite enjoy a quiet weekend cleaning and polishing!!

To be truthful you will be wasting your money on any expensive wax as you will not get the benefit of a deep shine.

Best bet is too use something like Zaino or Rejex, or a very good alternative would be a glaze topped with a quality wax such as P21S. Zymol may be good but there are plenty of products that rival it. You just need to do a bit more research!

Try doing a search on google for car detailing, especially US sites, Auyopia is a good place to start. Zymol is not popular over there purely on cost.

Zymol glazes look amazing on dark colours.
I'm not convinced of the same benefit on either Arctic or Polar silver.
