The water pump and tandem pump were looking a little crusty on the 997 so I decided to do a full butt refresh on the engine..

So seized it snapped when trying to free it!

Even gave the engine brace a good clean despite knowing it’ll never be seen 🤣

Decided it was much easier to remove the exhaust and rear engine brace and gave me complete access to the rear of the engine. Was a decent little project and cooling system even filled up without drama thanks to just having the rear end jacked up!

Runs lovely and quietly now 👌👌

Nice work. How long did the whole job take?

A good bit of work there, but looks very satisfying. What we're you using to Jack the back end up with?

Took three days but that’s because I was having to leave for work at 3pm and not getting home til 2am! Plus I had to wait for the tandem vacuum line but luckily Design911 had one on the shelf and got it to me next day.

It’s actually a motorcycle lift rated to 500kg, but has a large square face that’s padded so it was ideal to use to lower the engine supporting the sump and was very reasonably priced. Made the job much safer than having it supported with a normal jack etc
