Hi all
Sorry if I’ve mentioned before
One year ago my fully restored 1976 backdated 911 was on the road and driving, having covered 300 miles I decided to have the first oil change and valves reset. On draining the oil, out dropped an engine oil cooling jet,
As I had purchased new cases from Porsche , they under warranty stripped the engine back to bare bones and decided a manufacturing defect in the jets and decided eventually on new cases.
This is where the problem got worse
Knowing of more than one defect, Porsche said new cases would be manufactured.
Well I’m still waiting one year on and Porsche GB customer service are not that good on responding to e mails and updating me.
I’m told I should get new cases on 13th June 2025 , over a year since the defects were found.
My car is in Porsche Tonbridge,Kent in storage.
Tonbridge has been fantastic but not so GB Porsche.
I’m hoping they return my e mails but anyone know more on this issue
Regards Keith

Sorry I can’t offer any advice but that’s a ridiculous amount of time to wait especially when it would seem they are not that fast in getting back to you. Hoping you get it sorted as soon as

unfortunately this is a parts manufacturer problem as they need to have minimum volume made and for rare parts it's not that straight forward, if the original batch had issues

legacy parts, it's no unusual for complex parts to take those time scales to come through
e.g. last time they made 964/993 crank cases they were bought up in bulk by traders as they are so hard to come by

PCGB can only provide an update when they have an update, you're not the only one waiting, otherwise PCGB are really just a centralised call centre for their franchises

Hi all
Re engine cases warranty
Well originally Porsche said 9th June … today😀for delivery of warranty engine cases but hey guess what it’s now put back to 2nd week in August
That means all of 2024 and now most of 2025 with car in storage and no engine
100k spent on this full resto and backdate and can’t use it although I did drive 300 miles before fault found
Porsche GB customer service is not good, no correspondence
Anyone got e mail address for Germany Porsche classic head person ?
Regards Keith
