Living in the Peak District, I'm looking to buy a 4WD C4 or C4S for the autumn/winter/spring snow & ice, and tyres that cope well with farm tracks and potholes. It's a wheel/tyre combination closer to a Dakar than a GTS.
In the summer, when most of my milage will be done, I'll be away a lot, and I'd swap to more conventional summer wheels and tyres.

Interested in recommended options for my spare wheel/tyre set.
My initial thoughts are:
Tyres all season or all terrain
Front 8 x 18 wheels 235/40 x 18
Rear 11 x 18 wheels 295/35 x 18
But there doesn't seem to be much tyre choice on- line.
Elephant racing in US suggest the following tyre options in their Safari kits:
.......We have used 225/55/R18 Front and 225/60/R18 Rear with good results on 997 C4 and turbo cars.....I assume with suspension lift, that includes, upgraded, adjustable suspension components and wheel spacers. The kits are expensive but if I buy a 997 that needs a suspension refresh that's probably half the price of a kit anyway. So run standard 19" set-up for summer then swap to Safari set-up in autumn with suspension lift & adjustment with 18" wheels & spacers. What are your thoughts? Anyone done similar? Any of the Independents specialising in this? Any advice will much appreciated.

suspension spacers do the trick to get some height in the wheel arches which is what you will need if running all terrain tyres

which year is your 997 ?

Thanks I was thinking I'd need suspension spacers, not sure about adjustable shocks, coil overs and adjustable control arms.
I've not got the 997 yet but preference is a Gen2 or Hartech engine Gen1. The wheel/ tyre and suspension situation on any car I look at will influence my purchase decision. I need to have a good idea how I intend to develop the car so I get the best base car for the development.

I was thinking of doing the same thing my 987.2 3.4S (Manual) but might do if I don't sell the car
