The aircon on my 40th Anniv was non-operational, had it regassed at our local tyre services place including a leak check, removed 300ish g of gas so was obviously low then regassed with recommended amount of gas/oil. All seemed to be working fine for several days but now non-operatonal again. After speaking with them, it appears the leak test is done on a vaccuum so I assume that this might well hide a leaks which would then appear when the system is running as normal under pressure. Have checked obvious places at front rads but no obvious signs of oil etc. Anyone have any comments or other hints to try or can recommend an aircon specialist in Newcastle upon Tyne area. Here's hoping for some warm weather so i might actually need the aircon!

If the green uv dye has been added you might be able to see it in the likely places. If its not around the condensor it could be the evaporator which 'may' show a pool underneath the car or it could be in any one of the pipe joins along the sill.
Your leak might be so small that the escaping gas and dye effectively mists on leakage so is very difficult to see. A bit like when you're at a urinal and you only notice the splashback wearing light trousers.
Most AC specialists (and this can be a mobile set up) will put some dye in, get it to pressure and then use a uv lamp whilst wearing special glasses akin to those worn by old aged kiddie fiddlers hanging about in the park (allegedly)
The question is once you've discovered the leak what do you want to do with it - get it fixed? In which case you need your friendly Indie to do the work as the guy in thisk glasses wont know much about the car.
Best solution is take it to your Indy let them get in the AC guy they know and they can feed back the synopsis and associated costs. :thumb:
My 993 would hold charge for about a week which later transpired to a knackered evaporator.
You could try an alternative. Given that the leak is so small eBay sells a www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350769826818?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649] Sealant kit.
You could try this then get Kwik Fit to gas it up (but perhaps tell them you've not added this as it will be extracted to their machine first) :grin:

Moorhouse. Same thing happened to me. A/c shagged, regassed and seemed ok but reverted after a week. One condenser replaced all now tickety-boo.
Someone on here recommended running with a/c on all the time which I now do with minimal affect on mpg.

Kwik-fit should test it and add dye. The guy and my local one vacuum tested it, found a leak, gassed it with UV dye then looked for the leak with a blacklight and googles.. which he promptly found on one of the condensers..all for free.
