Hi

I am of course referring to Portiacraft's buyback scheme, anyone used it? What did you think of it?

Thanks

Zahoor

Here the text from
www.portiacraft.com

"AT THE MOMENT ALL OUR CABS AND BOXSTERS ARE VERY CHEAP DUE TO THE TIME OF YEAR HOWEVER WE STRUGGLE TO BUY STOCK IN THE SPRING.
EVERY YEAR WE DO OUR BUY BACK SCHEME THIS HAS WORKED WELL FOR US OVER THE LAST 5 YEARS.
BASICALLY IF YOU BUY A CAR NOW WE WILL BUY IT BACK EARLY SPRING AT A FIXED BUY BACK PRICE USUALLY £2000 LESS THAN YOU BOUGHT IT FOR.
WE HAVE REGULAR CUSTOMERS WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS EVERY YEAR. EFFECTIVELY GIVING YOU CHEAP PORSCHE MOTORING OVER THE WINTER MONTHS.".

Sounds fair enough to me. Gets them cashflow positive over the winter rather than holding a load of cars in stock, and gets you into a car for an affordable monthly sum.

I assume there are T&Cs, i.e. mileage restrictions etc.

Do you have to commit to the buyback at the time of purchase?

Just spoken to Harry and he says that the 'buy back' is a commitment from them to you, i.e. they guarantee you a set figure if you bring the car back in March/April of next year. You have no commitment to return the car and are welcome to keep it, as most people do!

Sounds like a win-win situation for both sides.
