Hi Guys

I am just about to fit a set of 997 Turbo 1 alloys to my car.

I wondered what alloy wheel cleaner prople use for theirs, I usually use P21S but and not sure if it will harm the finish.

Thanks

I use the official Porsche wheel cleaner, no damage so far..

Once clean, washing with soap & water every two weeks I find is fine.

+1 same but i do it weekly.

If you do it often enough there is no reason to use stronger solutions to shift the dirt.

I do give my alloys a wax every year (or when I can be bothered!)

if you have any chips on the lacquer whatsoever you cleaners will get in and start causing white worm on the polished parts.

With these wheels you need to be very careful to maintain the finish.

I would clean from the inside using tar remover to shift the tar and then seal them up with something like Chemical Guys Wheel Guard or Collinite Wax. Before you do though inspect for any chips on the lacquer and touch them in with clear lacquer or acrylic nail polish.

The secret is to reduce scrubbing or cleaning as much as possible.

The centre caps are truly awful in design from a longevity point of view. The chrome/badge is just a cheap chrome plastic that has been stamped out from a sheet. The edges are 'open' and allow everything in. If they are good I would turn them upside down on a flat surface and spray the edges with a light coat of lacquer. It may prevent them deteriorating. At £160/set to replace they are shocking. (Hope that makes sense call me if not)

I use auto glym alloy wheel seal. No need for anything apart from shampoo and water. Best product I have found so far.
