hi any ideas ,just called opc as service indicator up ,2006 c2s with x51 ,was told car last serviced feb 2011 with 30k on clock now done 34.5 k ,last sevice major with brake fluid and plugs and coil packs total 3k of bills ,they told me cost now of £480 and shud have it done urgently !!! what shud i do ?

:eh!:

The service indicator says service is due.

The OPC correctly advises that a service is overdue.

It's 31 months since its last service and the schedule is for a service every 24 months.

What's the question again :?:

Hmmmm tricky one this.....

I had breakfast at 8 am, its now nearly 1pm and I'm really hungry.

What should I do?

I echo the above.

Your car needed a Service over 6 months ago. Don't neglect it, just get it done.

You will need a minor service (oil change) and a brake fluid change (should be every 2 years also) so you can add £100 onto the £480, they will want £150 but negotiate down to £100. Strange how the service indicator is 8 months out - unless you had an oil change elsewhere 10 months after the OPC serviced it. What does your book say?
Either way it needs doing.

4.5k miles in over 2.5 years...how come..? :?

Were you looking for "Don't bother, they don't know what the're talking about"?

I think there are enough threads about engine paranoia to make the whole question of regular servicing a no brainer!
