997.1 with added 5th button for PSE

Front lift option combined with usual PASM, Spoiler, PSE & Sport buttons would have given the 5 buttons you mention...if it was available then of course.
I was only looking for the additional PSE button. I haven't seen the lift button presumably you are referring to an air lift option for lowered cars? But I expect a lift button would have the wrong graphic on it anyway.

that would have been 6 buttons

I don't believe front lift wasn't an option till 997.2
 
Hi everyone. I'm late to the party, but I wanted to share the EASIEST solution for adding the PSE button to your 997. After yearning to add the PSE button to my 997 without spending a fortunate, I created a wireless PSE module. It connects to the switch assembly wiring harness that controls the various buttons and sends an RF signal to a separate exhaust valve controller. This eliminates the need for complicated wiring, vacuum hose and solenoid setup, and dealer activation, thus making it possible to add the PSE button yourself in just 1-2 hours. Here's a full video showing the installation process.

Nice solution but this will only work for 997.2 owners in it's current form. The switch modules are different on the 997.1 with different size plugs and different pinouts. If you have a 997.1 with Sports Chrono there isn't a switch module with separate sports mode and PSE buttons, which is why I had to go down thr route I did.

Of course, I am sure you could male a 997.1 version of this with a bit more work.

If there is a switch assembly with PSE button available for said 997.1, the ECG module will work for it.

The 997.1 without Sport Chrono would be easier for your solution, but would require slightly different wiring from your YT video because the 997.1 pinout is different from the 997.2.
As I said, your solution could work for the 997.1 with some changes, but not as it currently is.

Ah I see. Do you have a diagram for the 997.1 pin out vs the 997.2 pin out?
 
Not sure about a diagram, I'll have to check on my PC tomorrow.
From memory the .1 has a 16 pin connector with 2 rows of 8, whilst the .2 has a 20 pin connector with two rows of 10. The pin numbers are the same, but after pin 8 the locations are different. e.g. pin 9 & 10 is bottom left on the .1 but pin 9 & 10 is top right on the .2 connector.

Oh, that makes total sense. So essentially the same pin numbers but different physical locations on the connector.
 
if you didnt have sport chrono, then they gave you a button for the PSE
as @Gizmob73 has explained, back then with sport it was incorporate within sport mode

It's an odd diagram because it shows an impossible wiring combination for a .1. I have a theory that maybe there is a .1.5 that sits between the .1 and .2 and perhaps has the 5 buttons.
