993 hot start issues

lately my 993 has had a bit of a problem re-starting after parking up for say 10 mins,when I get back to it,it starts then splutters and dies....try restarting and it almost sounds like trying to start it with a flat battery............if I wait say 5mins after this pulava it starts fine..........so the Q is..........anyone else had this??? or know what its the sign of???

d'oh...............just had a thought...........thanks for reminding me.........this might work for you too.......obviously I'll still have to try it on mine.........check your DME relay..........I'll give mine a check too

rodders, not sure why it would die but the normal starting problem is IIRC fuel related can't recall the answer ! but they all can do it when warm but if the engine dies then it could be something else !

it kinda just catches then dies.......the rev counter doesn't even get half way up to the 1000 rev.



is it still possible that its DME relay related???

My Father in law had this problem on a BMW - I will find out what it was and report back.

I had a similar problem twice before on other cars. Once was oxygen starvation - try taking the air filter out. The other time it was a hairline crack in the distributor. Maybe a long shot but worth a poke.
